Sponsor Details
- Must have received all of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, First Eucharist and Confirmation
- If married, as sponsor must be married in the Catholic Church
- Must be a practicing Catholic, not younger than 16 years old
- Cannot be the Candidate's mother or father. A Godparent is acceptable and may be a very good choice
- Must be able to make himself/herself available throughout the Confirmation experience to fulfill their duty
- Consider choosing someone who is faithful to the Magisterium - prayerful, dependable, loving and comfortable sharing their faith
