Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.
This is Jesus' invitation to discipleship in Matthew 11:28-30.
Father Patrick M. Crino, Pastor
Alpha is a parish tool for evangelization where everyone is welcome. The same Alpha content is run all over the world, by Christians of all traditions, sharing the good news of Jesus. Each session has three key components:
Over a meal all sessions start with a time to relax and build friendships. Eating together creates space for people to connect and share life on a deeper level.
Alpha talks are designed to engage people from all walks of life and inspire conversation. They explore the big issues of life and faith and unpack the basics of Christian belief, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”
Discussion time is an opportunity for people to respond to what they've heard, hear from others and contribute their own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
Do you really want to know Jesus and not just things about him? Alpha will lead you to come alive in the faith! Invite someone to come to Alpha. Very few things will bring them closer to the Lord.
Lord, our parish family wants to share your life with each other
and with our neighbors.
As St. Thomas the Apostle launches Alpha in February, we ask your blessing.
Inspire participation by people who have questions about the Faith.
Guide our leaders to foster fruitful conversations.
Nourish our bodies and souls in the meals and Gospel which we share.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
