Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.
This is Jesus' invitation to discipleship in Matthew 11:28-30.

“I like altar serving because it is fun and gives you a chance to connect closer to God. My favorite part of being an altar sever is that you can experience the Mass differently. You are more engaged, now that you are a part of the Mass. It gives you the chance to work with other kids and to get to know the priests and deacons better. It also gives you a chance to take on more responsibility and develop leadership skills.”
Why I love altar serving is because you serve for God and help the priest. Also you show the kids what happens up there and it is so fun; helping God in the church alter serving and learning throughout the time altar serving.
It is just fun altar serving so that is why I like it. I enjoy giving my time at my parish.
My favorite thing about alter serving is you just know that you’re actually serving for God. You
know that you’re doing the right thing. It's fun to alter serve at different places. You get to meet new people. You get to help the priest and be a role model for other kids.
To be an altar server to me means I have the opportunity to strengthen my relationship with God. I have the gift of being closer to Him by helping to do His service for His people. By being an example to others and hopefully bring them closer in their love of Him and His Holy Catholic Church. I am very blessed to be able to serve Him and show my appreciation for His love for me and those I love. Thank you, Jesus.
The people who most influenced me to become an altar server the most are my older sisters. They used to serve at the altar and had some good times doing it. When they altar served, they told me how interesting it was to know and actively participate in the different parts of the Mass. When I started serving, I began to understand how much time and effort they put into this. I am grateful for my sisters sharing their experiences with me and also encouraging me to become an altar server.
The person who influenced me most to become an altar server was my oldest sister Megan. The reason she influenced me was because she was always so determined to reach her goals and had a strong connection to believe in God. She knew that He was always by her side and could make a big change with altar serving. She knew at times it could be difficult when altar serving. Having to remember all the steps. But that was not the most important part she knew the most important part was serving god and being with Him.
